PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey team capped of its final regular season home game in stellar fashion, defeating SUNY Cortland 3-1.

On Senior Day, it would be the fourth year forward, Bridget Balisy who would open the scoring midway through the first period for the Cardinals, giving them a 1-0 lead over the Red Dragons. The Brampton, Ontario native would score on a put back off her own initial shot.

In the second period, Muna Fadel would pick the pocket of a SUNY Cortland defender in the Red Dragon zone, springing a breakaway. The Belle River, Ontario product would deke SUNY Cortland goaltender Deanna Meunier and slide it by the outstretched leg into the back of the net.

Freshman, Courtney Moriarty made it 3-0 early in the third period, fighting through a scrum of players in front of the net to get her shot off to beat Meunier.

For the second-straight day, SUNY Cortland would end Camille Leonard's shutout bid in the third period. Charlie Calamari would get her third goal of the season to cut the Cardinal lead to 3-1.

Leonard would finish the afternoon with 13 saves for her Division III leading 20th win. Meaunier broke the SUNY Cortland women's ice hockey program record for most saves in a career with her 35 saves on 38 shots.

The nation's unanimous number one, Plattsburgh State, improves to 22-0-0 (15-0-0 ECACW) and finishes the regular season unbeaten inside the Stafford Ice Arena. SUNY Cortland dips below .500 to 9-10-1 (5-8-1 ECACW).

The Cardinals will return to action next weekend when they travel to Utica to play the Pioneers in a pair of ECAC West games.
