MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Plattsburgh State men's hockey team hit the road for a Friday night showdown in Middlebury, defeating the Panthers 3-0.
With under two minutes left in the first period the Cardinals appeared to take a 1-0 lead when
Pat Egan jammed home a puck by Middlebury goaltender Stephen Klein but the goal was waived off due to an official blowing their whistle to stop play. That would keep the game scoreless headlining into the second period.
In the second period, The Cardinals went on top 1-0 2:25 into the second period with the fifth of the year from
Michael Radisa. After making a nice move to the goal from the high slot, Radisa beat Klein through the five hole. Later, Radisa would make it 2-0 with 29 seconds left in the period.
Kyle Hall skated from the right corner to behind the net before feeding Radisa for his second of the night on quick deflection.
Brandon O'Quinn would make it 3-0 midway through the third period converting a power play goal for the Cardinals. Egan made a nice feed from right to left to O'Quinn, who redirected the puck into the back of the net.
Cardinal goaltender
Brady Rouleau finished the game with 24 saves while Klien corralled 32 saves for the Panthers.
No. 3 Plattsburgh State improves to 12-2-1 on the season and defeated Middlebury for the second time this season.
The Cardinals will travel to Williams on Saturday for a 4 p.m. clash against the No. 11 Ephs.
