Five Different Cardinals Score in 5-1 Victory over Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's team completed the weekend sweep of the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons with a 5-1 victory on Sunday.
 
Plattsburgh State would start the scoring early scoring two goals in the first period when senior Morgan MacInnis and freshman Kayla Meneghin would score 1:23 a part.
 
Meneghin would finish the day with a team-high three points on a goal and two assists.

In the second period second semester transfer Erin Brand would score her first goal in a Cardinal uniform on an unassisted goal 4:27 into the stanza.
 
Defenseman, Alyssa Parke scored for the second-consecutive game making it 4-0 Plattsburgh State through the first two periods.
 
In the third, Jordan Lipson would make it five-unanswered goals for the Cardinals converting a shorthanded goal.
 
The Red Dragons would end Camille Leonard shutout bid and stop the Plattsburgh State run scoring just 50 seconds after Lipson when Niamh O'Connor scored her fourth goal of the year and second of the weekend. 
 
Leonard finished the evening with 13 saves on 14 shots while Red Dragon goalie Kelly Farinella fought off 45 shots allowing five goals.
 
The Cardinals will finish up their finial two home games in the regular season hosting Utica College at 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday in a pair of ECAC West conference games.
