PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's hockey continued to roll in SUNYAC as play as they defeated Brockport 4-3 for as they become the first team to 10 wins in the SUNYAC.
After the first game featured a 1-0 shutout in favor of Plattsburgh State tonight the Cardinals would get on the board early scoring all four of their goals in the first period.
After scoring two goals last Friday against Potsdam, junior Connor Gorman buried three tonight in a natural hat trick performance.
Gorman would tally his goals at the 10:30, 13:56 and 17:11 marks in the opening period.
Alex Brenton would tally the fourth goal for Plattsburgh State on the power play ripping one from the left dot off the draw in the Brockport zone.
Brockport wouldn't go down quietly though, despite being outshot 38-24 on the night.
The Golden Eagles would tally three power play goals as the Cardinals took ten penalties on the night including seven in the third resulting in two five on three opportunities for Brockport.
Brockport who is ranked eighth in the country on the power play went 3-8 tonight on the man-up advantage.
James Ryan would be the recipient of all three Golden Eagles goals on the night scoring one in each period.
Brady Rouleau would collect his second-straight win making 21 saves on 19 shots including a barrage in the waning seconds as the Golden Eagles were on the man-advantage with an empty net.
Aaron Green would suffer the loss after struggling in the first period before blanking the Cardinals for the final 41 minutes.
Plattsburgh State moves to 14-4-1 (10-1-0 SUNYAC) as they will welcome the Geneseo Ice Knights into town Saturday at 7 p.m. The Cardinals won the first meeting earlier in the year at Geneseo 7-4.
