Balisy Hat-Trick Propels Cardinals over William Smith 10-0.

Box Score GENEVA, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's hockey team opened up its second semester right where they left off in December as it eased by William Smith 10-0 on Friday evening.
 
Plattsburgh State was all over the Herons early and often scoring four in the first and three in the second and third.
 
Alyssa Parke started the scoring for the Cardinals 4:11 into the game with Olivia Fox and Morgan MacInnis picking up the helpers on the goal.
 
Fox would then pick up the second goal for Plattsburgh State and her third of the season 10:43 into the first period.
 
Then Bridget Balisy would take over the game as she would register a hat-trick on the night including two in a row on the power-play to make it 6-0 and 7-0 in the second period.
 
Plattsburgh State would finish the game 4-6 on the power play as Andrea Ziesmann and Katelyn Turk would also find the twine on the man advantage.
 
Eight different skaters would tally multiple points the Cardinals as they owned a 68-11 shot advantage over the Herons.
 
Camille Leonard remained perfect on the season at 6-0-0 picking up her second shutout of the season after saving all 11 shots she faced for Plattsburgh State.
 
William Smith would use two goalies on the night. Megan Messuri would get the start for the Herons giving up three goals on 24 shots before being pulled 14:05 into the game. Maggie Salmon would come on in relief and finish out the game with 37 saves on 44 shots.
 
With the win Plattsburgh State improved to 11-0-2 and remained unbeaten in the ECAC West at 8-0-0. William Smith in its first season as a member of the ECAC West falls to 2-11-1 and 1-7-1 in conference.
 
The Cardinals will return back to ice on Saturday at 4 p.m. as they will go for the weekend sweep against William Smith.
