Melissa Sheeran registered her first ever collegiate hat-trick Friday night against Buffalo State in a five point night for the freshman.

Cardinals Bulldoze Bengals, 7-0

Box Score Buffalo, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's hockey rolled into Buffalo Friday night thumping the Bengals 7-0.
 
The Cardinals were led by freshman combo Kayla Meneghin and Melissa Sheeran as each girl tallied five points.
 
Meneghin would score the first two goals for the Cardinals five and eight minutes as Sheeran assisted on both of them.
 
Sheeran would take her turn to light the lamp 11:27 into the first period as the roles were reversed with Meneghin assisting on the goal.
 
Plattsburgh would take a 4-0 lead into the locker room after the first period when Brett Campbell scored her second of the season.
 
Sheeran would tally two more goals in the third to complete her hat-trick on the night and give the Cardinals a 6-0 edge. Meneghin would assist on each of them as well.
 
Sophomore Jordan Lispon would make it 7-0 Cardinals on her third of the season with less than four minutes left in the affair.
 
Sophomore goaltender Camille Leonard started her second-straight game for the Cardinals collecting nine saves in the shutout victory. Bengals goalie Justine Silva made 28 saves on 35 shots.
 
Plattsburgh State (9-0-2, 6-0-0 ECACW) will face-off with Buffalo State (5-4-2, 5-2-0 ECACW) again Saturday afternoon for a 3 p.m. as the Cardinals go for the weekend sweep over the Bengals.
