OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Plattsburgh State women's hockey team tied a school record for Eastern College Athletic Conference West Division victories in a season by thrashing host Oswego State, 7-1, on Friday at the Campus Center Ice Arena. The top-ranked Cardinals improve to 21-1-2 overall, including 16-0-1 in the ECAC West to match the inaugural 2001-02 squad that went 16-2-2 in conference play. BOXSCORE
Stephanie Moberg paced the offense with three goals, followed by Kristen Bond and Megan DiJulio with two each. Steph Moon, Laurie Bowler, Brittany Meade and Kara Buehler all had two assists.
Mandy Mackrell, who had 13 saves, lost her shutout bid in the first period when Jenna Kirkwood's 11th goal at the 11:40 mark cut the Plattsburgh lead to 2-1 at the time. Kelly Collins and Jillian Bergeron assisted on the play.
But the Cardinals scored the game's next five goals to extend several streaks: 10-game road unbeaten, 25-game conference unbeaten, 16-game overall unbeaten and four-game winning.
