PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.
– Teal Gove scored two goals and assisted on another as the Plattsburgh State women’s hockey team defeated Chatham, 6-0, to complete the weekend sweep.  With the win, the Cardinals improve to a perfect 5-0-0 on the season.

Megan DiJulio, Amber Welch, Helen Giroux and Gove each found the back of the net in the first period to set the tone for the game.  With the Cardinals in complete control, the Cougars did not record a shot on net until the second period.

Plattsburgh added a goal in the second and third period.  Gove recorded her seventh of the year from Allison Era and Erika Shaubel.  Kristen Bond padded the lead with her goal at 13:19 of the third period from DiJulio.

Chatham struggled to create any offensive opportunities as Plattsburgh held a 58-8 advantage in shots.  Despite allowing six goals, Chatham goaltender Kaitlynn Smith had a solid afternoon stopping 52 shots.

Mandy Mackrell was not tested in her fourth win and third shutout, dropping her goals-against average to a miniscule 0.25.

The Cardinals are off next weekend and will return to action when they travel to Norwich on Friday, December 3.
