PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Ten Cardinals recorded multiple points as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals defeated the Chatham Cougars, 12-1, in an ECAC West Division game at the Stafford Ice Arena.

Megan DiJulio, Justine Fisher, Shannon Flattery, Helen Giroux, Steph Moon and Teal Gove each scored in the first eight minutes of play, giving Plattsburgh a 6-0 lead after one period.

The Cardinals netted four more in the second period, with Flattery scoring her second of the game at 8:44.  Dawson Bancroft-Short scored Chatham’s lone goal at 3:09 of the second from Sara Forbes and Ashley Reid.

DiJulio finished the afternoon with two goals and one assists, while Moon, Gove and Kara Buehler each scored a goal and two assists.

Sydney Aveson picked up the win in her first start as a Cardinal, making 11 stops.  Chatham goaltender had 37 saves on 49 shots.

With the victory, the Cardinals improve to 4-0-0, while the Cougars fall to 0-3-0.
