POTSDAM, N.Y.--Plattsburgh State wrapped up the Clarkson Volleyball Invitational on Saturday with a pair of losses, first to the host Golden Knights, 25-14, 25-16, 25-5, then to Rochester Tech, 25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 25-21. The Cardinals fall to 3-20 on the season.

Theresa Lilly represented Plattsburgh on the all-tournament team as selected by the coaches.

The Cardinals gave Clarkson--an NCAA tournament team a year ago--some trouble in the first two sets despite early deficits, and were able to cut the Clarkson advantage to miniscule leads, but the Knights always fought back to maintain the lead.

Plattsburgh was led by Lilly with six kills and four digs, while Kristin Saheim added four kills and three blocks. Andrea Kalter led the Cardinals defensively with 12 digs.

Erika Chin had 22 assists in the final two sets for the Knights. All-American Sara Artus led the way with 10 points, while Megan Mahon added eight more kills. Alison Schroeder tossed in 18 digs and Holly McDaniel produced 14.

Despite the four-set loss to the Tigers, the Cardinals put forth a feisty effort with some impressive serving, including a season-high 12 aces with four coming from Kayla Hoopes.

Lilly hit at a .300 percentage (7-1-20) and had 10 digs. Chyresse Wells led the way with 13 digs and Kalter had a double-double with 24 assists and 11 digs.

Rebecca Moore had a match-high 16 kills for RIT while Katie Cooper and Jessica Schaffer each struck for seven, with Schaffer also digging 16 balls. Christina Worth assisted on 33 kills and Megan Henriksen led the team with 19 digs at the libero position.
