POTSDAM, N.Y.--The SUNY Plattsburgh men's soccer team wrapped up State University of New York Athletic Conference play on Saturday night with a 4-1 victory at Potsdam, improving to 12-4-1 overall. With the win, the Cardinals improve to 6-3 in conference play giving them sole possession of fourth-place, combined with Geneseo's 1-0 loss at Fredonia, setting up a SUNYAC tournament first-round game with the Blue Knights.

Joe Aratari paced Plattsburgh with two goals, his first points of his collegiate career.

The teams played a scoreless first half before Plattsburgh opened the scoring in the 54th minute on a Mike Payne goal, heading in a Chris Taylor corner kick past Potsdam keeper Joe Glackin.

Ryan Graig gave the Cardinals a commanding 4-0 bulge in the 83rd minute. Matt Martin sent a direct kick into the box as Graig headed home his first career goal.

Ian Gadbow's goal with 1 minute and 57 seconds left in the game spoiled Andy Heighington's bid for another Plattsburgh shutout. Ian Glaser assisted on the play, which was a free kick.
