ONEONTA, N.Y.--The Plattsburgh State volleyball team fell to Elmira and Skidmore by identical 3-0 scores on Saturday afternoon to conclude two-day play at the Oneonta Invitational. The Cardinals now stand at 3-17 overall.
Chyresse Wells and Kayla Hoopes had five kills apiece during a 25-13, 25-13, 25-21 loss to the Soaring Eagles. Kayla Nason made 17 assists and had a career-high five blocks to lead the Cardinals in that category.
Freshman Cat Darling had career bests of eight kills and four blocks to lead Plattsburgh against the Thoroughbreds, who prevailed 25-18, 25-15, 25-19. Kristin Saheim added six.
Nason, who had 21 assists, continued her strong play at net with three blocks. Abby Mell pitched in five kills and four blocks.
