BUFFALO, N.Y.--The Plattsburgh State men's soccer team used three different goal scorers to gain a 3-0 victory Friday at Buffalo State in State University of New York Athletic Conference action at Coyer Field. The visiting Cardinals improve to 11-2-1 overall, including a 5-2 SUNYAC mark, while the Bengals lost their 10th-straight to fall 2-11 and 0-6 in the conference.

Taking advantage of wet conditions, the Cardinals struck early in the 12th minute when Pat Shaughnessy netted his team-leading sixth goal of the season on a deflection inside the left post. Erik Hakim was credited with an assist for his first point of 2010.

Plattsburgh dominated the game in the first half, outshooting the Bengals 10-1 for the first 45 minutes--but still had the one goal to show for it.

The Cardinals, however, pulled away in the second half with more offensive pressure. John LoGuirato one-timed a Chris Taylor cross from the left for an insurance goal in the 66th minute and Jarred Antonucci fed Danny Byrnes from 18-yards out for the final tally in the 82nd.

Shaun Winter had two shots off the bench for Buffalo State, which was outshot 19 to 6 for the game. Plattsburgh also had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Andy Heighington made three saves for his 10th shutout, tying him for fourth-place on the all-time single-season list at Plattsburgh.
