PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - Megan DiJulio scored twice and assisted on another goal to propel the Plattsburgh State women's hockey team to a 7-2 non-conference victory Tuesday against Norwich, marking the first-ever meeting between the schools. Reigning Eastern College Athletic Conference West Division player of the week Laurie Bowler continued her hot streak with three assists to help Plattsburgh turn a 1-0 deficit into a 4-1 advantage early in the second period. Bowler, who appeared in her 100th career collegiate game tonight, has eight goals and five assists for 13 points in her last nine contests. Steph Moon and DiJulio benefited from a Bowler pass during the Cardinals' four unanswered goals in a span of 18 minutes and 21 seconds.
Norwich scored both of its goals while on the power play. Kelsey Cone put the visitors up 1-0 midway through the first period on a feed from Sarianne Lynn. Melissa Rundlett brought the Cadets to within 4-2 at the midpoint of the second with her sixth goal of the season. Sophie Leclerc and Julie Fortier were credited with assists on the play.
Kate Fairfield (2 goals), Kayla McDougall (1 goal-1 assist) and Moon (1 goal-1 assist) also had a multi-point game for the Cardinals.
Plattsburgh outshot Norwich 39 to 15 for the game.
