BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Plattsburgh State men's hockey team twice scored short-handed and added three power play goals en route to a 7-1 rout at the College of Brockport on Saturday, improving the nationally No. 3-ranked Cardinals' record to 12-2-4 overall and 8-1-1 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference. Plattsburgh took a 1-0 lead in the first period on Greg Fosso's first career goal, but blew the game open with three goals in both the second and third. The Golden Eagles didn't help themselves by spending a lot of time in the penalty box, compiling 35 penalty-minutes.

The Cardinals seemed to deflate Brockport with short-handed goals by Kyle Taylor and Jared Docking 40 seconds apart during the second period. It was Docking's first career goal in 12 games as a freshman.

The Golden Eagles' lone goal came via the power play by Justin Noble at the 18:05 mark of the second period, closing the deficit to 4-1.

Plattsburgh outshot Brockport by a whopping 52-15 margin, including 28 to 3 in the final stanza. Josh Leis picked up the win to go 5-1-3, making 14 saves.
