GENESEO, N.Y. - Dylan Clarke broke a 2-2 tie in the third period and Kyle Kudroch scored an insurance goal a few minutes later to send No. 3-ranked Plattsburgh State to an exciting 4-3 victory Friday at Geneseo in State University of New York Athletic Conference men's hockey action. Visiting Plattsburgh started strong with first-period goals by Dan Sliasis and Mike Kavanagh 47 seconds apart.
But the 2-0 lead evaporated in the second period as Geneseo tied the game on goals from Dan Brown and Ryan Bulach at the 14-minute and 56-second and 18:58 marks, respectively.
That set the stage for the decisive third period when the Cardinals hung on for the win after going up 4-2 with Clarke's fifth of the season and Kudroch's unassisted tally.
Clint Olson pulled Geneseo within 4-3 just 12 seconds after Kudroch's seventh goal at the 4:41 mark.
The Cardinals went 3-for-6 on the power play and outshot the Knights 36-31 for the game.
