Five Different Scorers Lift Plattsburgh over Morrisville

Three-Goal Second Period was a Key

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - Plattsburgh State scored three times in the second period to help the visiting Cardinals down Morrisville State 5-1 in State University of New York Athletic Conference men's hockey action on Saturday night. The No. 3-ranked Cardinals move to 4-1 overall and in the SUNYAC while the Mustangs drop even to 3-3 and 2-2. BOXSCORE

Leading 1-0 after 20 minutes, Plattsburgh received goals from Mike Grace, Cody Adams and Mike Kavanagh over a 6-minute, 34-second span in the second period for a 4-0 cushion.

The Mustangs' lone tally came off the stick of Adam Laite, his third of the season, from Adam Hercules and Stefan Carnegie at 15:34 of the second.

Ian DeLong closed the scoring for Plattsburgh in the third period and Paul Puglisi gave the Cardinals a 1-0 lead in the first. Dylan Clarke assisted on both goals.

All five Plattsburgh players had their first goal of the season to back the 23-save performance of Ryan Williams.

Caylin Relkoff made 42 saves to keep the Mustangs in the game.
