COLCHESTER, Vt. - Kaitlyn Bakker had a team high 11 kills and freshman Abby Mell added eight, but it wasn't enough as Plattsburgh State lost a 25-12, 25-23, 25-14 decision at Saint Michael's in non-conference volleyball action Tuesday night at the Ross Sports Center. The Cardinals fall to 9-22 on the year while the Purple Knights of the NCAA Division II-scholarship Northeast-10 Conference improve to 7-18.
The Bakker-Mell duo combined for 19 of the Cardinals' 28 kills and hit a collective .359, but the rest of the team was only minus-.121. For the match, Plattsburgh attacked at .093 as a team while SMC was efficient at .327.
Lindsey Frazier led all players with 15 kills to set the Purple Knights' single-season record of 299. Lilly Lowe contributed 10, and both players were over .500 in attack percentage.
Susan Bodkin posted a double-double for Plattsburgh with 20 assists and 10 digs, and Chyresse Wells posted 12 digs.
