POTSDAM, N.Y. - For the second time in a span of three days, the Plattsburgh State volleyball team fell to a tough Clarkson University squad, this time on the road at Alumni Gymnasium, in three sets, 25-20, 25-15, 25-4. The Cardinals fall to 9-17 overall after Tuesday's non-conference loss while the host Golden Knights improve to 20-5.
Like Saturday's 3-0 loss in Plattsburgh, the Cardinals didn't help themselves tonight against the opportunistic Golden Knights. Plattsburgh had a minus-.041 attack percentage, hit more errors (15) than kills (12), seven service errors and 11 reception errors.
On the other side, Clarkson hit .289 as a team and recorded almost twice as many digs, 65 to 36.
Kaitlyn Bakker spiked five of Plattsburgh's 12 team kills. Chelsea Varin contributed 11 digs, and Susan Bodkin had seven assists, five digs and a block.
Plattsburgh did out-perform Clarkson at the net, 5 to 3 in total team blocks.
