Few have had more of an impact on the Plattsburgh State women’s volleyball program than Rosilyn Cummings, whose presence on the court led the Cardinals to one of the best seasons in team history in 2013.

After earning Second-Team All-SUNYAC East Division honors in 2011 and 2012, she capped off her career with a senior season that saw her earn AVCA Honorable Mention All-America, AVCA All-New York Region, SUNYAC Player of the Year and First-Team All-SUNYAC honors.

The Plattsburgh, N.Y., native, who also earned SUNYAC All-Decade Team recognition and a spot on the 2013 SUNYAC All-Tournament Team, ranks second in program history in career kills with 1,183.

Date of Induction into the Cardinal Sports Hall of Fame:
September 27, 2024

Where are they now:

Rosilyn is currently the head women’s volleyball coach at Russell Sage College and is in her second year in that role. She lives in Albany, N.Y., with her partner, Michael, and they have a son, Wesley, who is 1 year old.

Professionally, Rosilyn cites her biggest accomplishment as playing and coaching internationally in Iceland in their professional league and then coaching for the Icelandic national team. Personally, she says that her biggest accomplishment “would be becoming a parent to our sweet boy, Wes.”

Favorite Plattsburgh State Sports Moment:

“My favorite moment would be going to SUNYACs my graduate year. We had been fighting for four years to get into that position, and at the beginning it felt miles away. I was so proud of our team for changing the narrative around Plattsburgh State Volleyball, and it was so much fun to get a chance to compete at that next level. Taking a first-round win and getting into a five-set match with New Paltz was the most exciting time in my career for sure.”
