A dangerous scoring threat, four-year captain Wescott was part of a potent Cardinal offense during the 1970s. He netted a school-record seven goals in one game while skating with a powerful forward line during the 1977-78 season. Wescott ranked among the top three in scoring during his four seasons as a player.
He was named to six all-tournament teams while receiving two team MVP honors. Wescott earned two New York Collegiate Hockey Association All-Star selections. In 100 career games, he scored 82 goals with 159 assists for 241 points. Wescott was named to the program’s first All-Decade Team.
At the time of his induction, Wescott worked as a community relations specialist with the Illinios Department of Aging. He also coached youth hockey, soccer and Little League.
