Professor Emeritus of Physical Education, Joseph Jastrab coached four varsity teams during his time at the school. His longest coaching gig was with men’s basketball where spent 16 seasons at the helm. In the 1955-56 season, Jastrab coached the Cardinals to an 18-1 record and a NAIA Eastern Division Tournament game.

During the fall, he was the men’s soccer coach from 1953 to 1958, including a 6-2 record his final season. Jastrab also spent three seasons as the baseball coach. He earned his first baseball coaching win in 1957 with an 18-0 win against Castleton State. Jastrab also coached golf during its first inception at Plattsburgh State.
