Jim Duran served two of his four years with the men’s hockey team as team captain. He compiled 55 goals and 77 assists for 132 points from 1988 to 1992.
He had his best season as a senior when he scored 24 goals and 61 points, earning second-team all-State University of New York Athletic Conference, Cardinal co-Most Valuable Player and Plattsburgh State Male Athlete of the Year accolades. He also received a team award that “most typifies a true Cardinal hockey player” in 1992.
He helped the Cardinals to a 93-24-7 record and a .778 winning percentage during his career. He played on the school’s first NCAA-recognized Division III championship team in 1992 and was a two-time SUNYAC champion (1990, ’92).
