Jennifer (Wiseman) Hesseltine enjoyed a standout career as a women's track and field and women's soccer student-athlete during her time at Plattsburgh State.
During the 1993-94 indoor track and field season, the Malone, N.Y., native earned All-America honors by placing fifth at the 1994 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 800-meter run (2:18.43). She became just the fifth female track and field All-American in program history, and as a result of her success, she was named the Plattsburgh State Female Athlete of the Year in 1993-94 and earned the Plattsburgh State Senior Achievement Award in 1994-95.
Also a four-year member of the Cardinal women's soccer program, she scored six goals and added four assists for 16 points during her career.

Where is she now:
Jennifer currently works as a social studies teacher at Malone Middle School. As an educator, Jennifer is a cheerleader and an advocate for students in rural school districts to gain the necessary skills to contribute positively as global citizens. Hesseltine hopes to continue to inspire student learning well beyond the walls of her classroom. She lives in Malone, N.Y., with her husband, Brent, and children, Emma (12) and Ryan (8).
Since graduating from Plattsburgh, Jennifer has completed the Montreal (1995) and Adirondack (1998) marathons; a self-guided cross country bike trek across the United States along with former Plattsburgh women’s soccer student-athlete Shannon (Gallagher) Husselbeck ‘96; the Triple Bypass Bicycle Ride, which was a 120-mile bike ride from Evergreen, Colo., to Avon, Colo., that went over three mountain passes and over 10,000 feet of elevation gain and her Master of Science in Teaching program, earning her degree in 1999.
She also notes that her experiences as a student-athlete at SUNY Plattsburgh helped pave the way for her to hone the important life skills that she uses on a daily basis in her personal and professional life.
