A two-time captain, McManus guided the Cardinals’ tennis team to multiple conference and postseason victories. In his time, Plattsburgh State won gold and two silver medals in singles play in the SUNYAC tournaments. McManus also help lead the squad to a medal performance in the NCAA Eastern Regional championships.

Where are they now?
After graduation, McManus spent years coaching sectional championship teams at Northeastern Clinton Central School. In addition to coaching, he also taught and chaired the social studies department at the high school.

At the time of his induction, McManus had served as former village trustee and director of the Town of Champlain’s summer tennis programs. McManus was then elected mayor of Rouses Point, N.Y.
