Allison (Busby) Deshane was a skilled distance runner who led the Cardinals to a second-place finish at the NCAA Division lll Cross Country Championships in 2007.
Allison’s top individual finish at the national meet came in 2005, as she finished fourth individually at the 2005 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships with a six-kilometer time of 22:05.9. One of the most decorated distance runners in Plattsburgh State history, the Vestal, N.Y., native was an All-American in outdoor track and field (2005) and a two-time All-American in cross country (2005, 2007).
Allison excelled in the classroom as well, as she earned the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence in 2007-08 and received the Dr. Richard D. Semmler Scholar-Athlete Award that same year. She was also a CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team selection in 2007-08.

Where is she now:
Allison, who resides in Brasher Falls, N.Y., with her husband, Matt, is a stay-at-home mom to their four children: James (8), Madeleine (6), Juliette (4) and Patrick (5 months). She homeschools their children, which, in Allison’s words, “keeps me very, very busy.” Allison says that her greastest accomplishment is her family.
Favorite Plattsburgh State Sports Moment:
”My favorite moment at Plattsburgh State was our cross country team’s second-place finish at nationals in 2007 at St. Olaf’s in Minnesota.”
