Memorial Hall

Near the center of campus, on Rugar Street near the intersection of Broad Street, sits Memorial Hall. It is home to the Cardinal basketball and volleyball teams and seats 800 spectators.

Memorial Hall went under a significant renovation in the Fall of 2019, as a $30 million project saw updates to every aspect of the building, including the fitness center and the competition gym. The building also added a new recreation gym as well as an Athlete-Only Fitness Center.

In addition, coaches, athletics administrative, and recreational clubs/intramural offices are housed here.

The Plattsburgh State Athletic Hall of Fame adorns the top floor with photos and citations of former greats who have contributed to the successful legacy of Plattsburgh State Athletics.

Near-capacity crowds have witnessed the Cardinals capture five SUNYAC men's basketball championships since 2006 and one SUNYAC women's basketball championship in 2013-14. The men are also six-time hosts of the NCAA Tournament, hosting the sectional rounds in 2007-08, 2013-14, 2015-16 and 2017-18.

The gymnasium—located on the top floor on street level—features radio and television accommodations, a video board and an elevated filming deck for game operations.

Students participate in a wide variety of recreational sports programs and clubs out of the facility.

A state-of-the-art Fitness Center, new climbing wall, racquetball courts, aerobic studio, and group exercise area are located on the bottom floor. Team locker rooms and a fully-equipped athletic training room are located on the middle floor.
