PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – On Saturday, Oct. 21, the Plattsburgh State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will host a hockey season ticket pick-up reception at the Field House around the women's and men's ice hockey teams' exhibition games that day. In recognition of the fervent support given by fans of Plattsburgh State Hockey, both exhibition games will be free of charge.
 
The day begins with a 3 p.m. women's ice hockey exhibition game against Castleton University, and beginning at 4 p.m., a season ticket pick-up reception, which will feature a dessert reception and schedule poster giveaways, will be held in the Field House gymnasium for 2017-18 season ticket holders. The reception will run until 7 p.m. when the men's ice hockey team takes on Skidmore College in an exhibition contest. Only season ticket holders requiring new cards for the 2017-18 season are required to pick up. Those who indicated they retained their credentials from last season have been pre-programmed for the coming season. Starting Oct. 21, all lost/replacement cards will require a $5 fee.
 
Tickets to both exhibition games will be free for both season ticket holders and non-season ticket holders alike. Both games will have general admission seating, but the gates for the men's game will open at 5:30 p.m. for season ticket holders and 6:15 p.m. for the general public.

In addition, women's ice hockey season tickets will be sold on site. Season tickets for men's ice hockey season ticket holders are $39, while non-men's ice hockey season ticket holders can purchase them for $50.
 
Both ice hockey teams are coming off championship seasons. The Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey team won its fourth consecutive—and sixth overall—NCAA Division III title in 2016-17, posting a 28-1-1 overall record and a 16-1-1 mark in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) West. The Cardinal men's ice hockey team captured its 23rd State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) championship last year, going 17-10-1 overall (10-5-1 SUNYAC).
