Men’s Hockey Introduces 12 New Athletes

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's ice hockey team is gearing up for the 2016-17 season. In doing so, the Cardinals are introducing 12 newcomers who will look to find their role for the upcoming year.

Noah Batis F Martinsville, Iowa

Noah's game is on the physical side. He prides himself on shooting the puck often and attacking the net. Look for him to add a spark to the game right from puck drop.

Charles Barber D Queensbury, N.Y.

A good-sized defenseman, Charles loves physical play and blocking shots. When necessary, he can jump up in the play. Also a two-way defenseman, he can play any role for the team.

Philip Middleton D Vail, Colo.

A stay-at-home defenseman, Phil uses his size to his advantage for hitting and using his long stick on the defensive side of the puck. He also possesses a good shot from the point and good vision on the ice.

Josh Davies G Guelph, Ontario

A calm and emotionless goalie in games, Josh is very competitive with himself in practice. Although not very big (by today's standards) for a goalie, he works really hard on his technique and skill to make every save.

Brady Pfaff F South Riding, Va.

A playmaker more than a scorer, Brady can play either wings or center. Known for his hard work at both ends of the ice, his speed and skating ability will be an asset.

Antoine Desnoyers F Quebec City, Quebec

Although not really big in size, Antoine has great skating ability. He has nice hands and better-than-average vision, so look for him to make plays and be a distributor of the puck.

Felix Periard F Boucherville, Quebec

An offensive player with good hands and a quick release, Felix is predominately a right wing who focuses on getting puck to net. In addition, he sees the ice well.

Evan Lindquist D Amston, Conn.

An offensive, puck-moving, heads-up defenseman, Evan has good feet and hockey IQ. He is very coachable, and keeps his game simple.

Antoine Fournier-Gosselin D St. Lazare, Quebec

Antoine is an offensive defenseman who likes to get in the action. He can really shoot the puck and one-time it especially well. He also has good size and reach, which allows him to be a good defender.

Schuyler Seyfert F Marshfield, Wis.

Schuyler is a smart hockey player who understands/enjoys playing within a team system. He can slow the game down and set up plays in the offensive zone.

Joe Drabin F Rochester, N.Y.

A gritty, hard-nosed, two-way player, Joe likes to finish checks and block shots. He also has the offensive ability to go along with hard work to contribute to the offense.

Gavin Yates Plymouth, Mass.

Gavin is a small, shifty forward who can play the physical game. He is a really gritty player who is good in tight situations and on the boards.

The 2016-17 season officially begins on November 5th when the Cardinals welcome the SUNY Canton Kangaroos to the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena
