CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2015-16 men's ice hockey preseason poll Wednesday afternoon with the Cardinals receiving the most votes.
 
The Cardinals are coming off of a 20-6-2 (13-2-1 SUNYAC) season where they finished first in the SUNYAC regular season before defeating Brockport (7-5) and Oswego (2-1) en route to their 22^nd SUNYAC Championship.
 
Plattsburgh State appeared in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2011-12 season. The Cardinals received a first round bye before losing to eventual Division III Champion, Trinity.
 
Oswego received the second most votes with 59, falling three points behind Plattsburgh State.
 
The Cardinals will open up the season Saturday, October 24 at 7 p.m. with an exhibition game against Cegep Andre-Laurendeau before starting the regular season on the road against SUNY Canton, Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.
